The Central Coast Waterpolo Presentation night at Gosford RSL stating at 7.00p.m on the 23rd May. Under 18’s are also welcome to the night for the presentation of this years award winner’s and includes entertainment

Winter training starts next Monday the 4th May – so dust off the cozzies and goggles and get ready to brave to cold. Training is open to anyone who wants to either stay fit or get fit over the winter… players, parents even 2nd grade men!

Training will be every Monday and Wednesday night at 6.30 pm til 7.30pm in the Gosford outdoor pool. If you can only make one night a week or just whenever you can, everyone is welcome. The pool temp is 26 degrees all winter so unless we get a howling southerly blowing up the harbour the pool is quite comfortable. We’ll have 2 or maybe three lanes, each catering to different speeds/ages/abilities. We’ll start swimming approx 1 km and work up to 2.0 or 2.5 km and do some ball work later in the season.

This is 100% voluntary and is weather dependant so if it’s too cold then don’t bother turning up. It’s all about enjoying yourself and staying fit at the same time! Come on parents – if you want to come down and swim a few laps with the group or on your own please do (we won’t laugh too loud)!

Just a small note of warning, these sessions are really only for those kids who are willing to and capable of swimming (heads down) for up to an hour. If you don’t think your child is capable of this then they probably won’t get what they need to from these sessions.

Under 12 2009 Grand Final Winners…

and what the game it was, the whole team including Aidan, Madie, Bronty, Cruize, Oliver,Josh, Chris,Isabella, Alysse and Rebbie just gave everything and became The Champions for 2009. Here we must also acknowledge those players who have started with us this season including Julia, Sarah and Isaac and for whatever reason were not able to participate to the conclusion which was SOOO rewarding.  We must mention also Corey, Harry, Monaghan, Kirstin, Anna, Hugh, Ryan, Tim, Aleisha, Joel, Mathew, Holly, Talia, Zoe who deserve this grandfinal win as well.

Under 14 Boys 2009 Grand Final Winners…

In my previous post I have issued warning and it came. Our Boys have done it.
These ‘neversaydie’ players Nicholas,Chad,Nathan,Jai,Daniel,Lachlan,Lachlan,Liam,Josh,Chris,Nicholas,Jack and Oliver continued the resilience and determination to succeed.

Again disciplined well played team work paid off. Girls Jessica, Tara, Haylee, Andrea, Olivia ,Emma, Rebecca,  Alysse, Jaimi and ‘not so girl’ Jai showed the same determination and will, they passed, they shot and hey they enjoyed themselves till the end.

Well Done again all the Under 12’s, 14’s and 16’s you made Gosford Water Polo Club and your parents so proud.

Under 12…..

This coming Saturday 21 march 2009 the Water Polo Grandfinal Extravaganza will take place at the PLC (Woy Woy pool) from 10 am. The first most important match of 2009 will involve our mighty Under 12 team against the very strong Woy Woy Under 12 team.

Under 14 Girls….

Our Girls Under 12 team has played a huge game last Saturday but went down in the extra time with the “Sudden Death goal” (how unfair edit.). However the whole club is so proud of you girls!!! and we know that future will only get better for you.

Under 14 Boys…

We play this Saturday against Woy Woy as well and we only have one message for the oposition:

Watch out!! We are coming to get you! ( just joking…)

Under 16 Girls…

This is an another huge game for our club after all those negative comments we heard from some corners about our team - guess what? It just made us stronger. We are proud to play fair and square and nothing else. Go Gosford Go.  We play Wyong and although players from both teams are kind of friends it will be all forgotten on this Saturday, come down and cheer for us!!!!

Under 16 Boys…

What a season we had. We gave our best and almost caused huge upset in our last game. Well done boys (pictured).

and lastly,

Gosford Ladies….

After the nervous start Ladies showed just how awsome game they can play.

This is a game what we all waited for for so long. Gosford ladies have not won the grandfinal since ‘their mums’ won it some years ago. Go Gosford!! and don’t forget -  ‘Orange JUUUUUICE!!!’

Tomorrow morning this seasons Junior competition kicks off at the Peninsula Leisure Centre. We head to Woy Woy for the local darby against the Wombats.

Jackie Barlow has generously volunteered to co-ordinate this years chocolate fundraiser. None of thos healthy muesli bars this year – just give us good old Freddos! If you would like to help the club’s finances by selling some choc’s you can contact Jackie on 0409 981 141 for more info.

This year as part of your registration fees you will receive a free club T-shirt and water bottle. If you wish to purchase additional t-shirts they will be $15 and water bottles are $5. You can also order club costumes; boys are $20, Men’s $25, girls $35 and ladies $40. Orders will be taken up to the 1st of November, when we will be placing the order with the manufacturer, so if you want costumes get your order form and money to Rowie by 1 Nov.
