Gosford Water Polo

Congratulations to the Gosford U16 boys who played so well at the recent U16 National Club Championships in Melbourne.

Lachlan Faulder, Ryan Mulligan, Jai McNamara, Chad Sneyd, Daniel Heard and Lachlan Walter earned 4th spot out of 24 teams from around Australia, and had many interstate people asking about “The Central Coast”. There were also many congratulations regarding the success of our junior development program and Gosford clubs strength at junior level.

The side was successful against teams from Brisbane, W.A, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Tasmania and they only missed a spot in the gold medal round by 1 goal. (coming from behind 7-2 to draw level 8-8, only to lose 9-8 to Hunter, who we had beaten previously.)

All boys, officials, supporters and sponsors must be thanked for this huge effort which has put Central Coast (and Gosford!) Water Polo Club on the map!

Our sponsors were, BOOST JUICE ERINA, BENDIGO BANK EAST GOSFORD, DAVISTOWN RSL, ETTALONG BEACH CLUB (and of course the players parents!) We would like to express our sincere thanks for their generosity and also the great financial support of CC Junior Water Polo and Gosford Water Polo Club and also the Woy Woy, Wyong and The Entrance Water Polo Clubs.

As an added bonus, Gosford’s junior development has been rewarded with Jai McNamara being selected in the Born 96 Australian squad which will aim to compete at the Junior World Championships in 2013!

Thursday 6pm – 7pm Flipperball (ages 6-10)
5.30 – 7pm U/12 mixed
6.30 -8.15 U 14 boys and U/14 girls

Saturday. junior competition (see CCWP draw for times and venues)

Could all persons who are interested in taking on a role or coaching a team at Gosford Water Polo club for the upcoming summer season please send me an expression of interest for the position that they are seeking.

The club will be holding a meeting open to all junior parents & senior club members to attend:

TIME: 1 pm lunch (if desired)
MEETING: 2 pm start for meeting
WHERE: Davistown RSL

This meeting is also to raise issues for discussion so that they can be tabled and finalised at the next CCJWP meeting.

If anyone is interested in coaching a Central Coast representative team, please indicate that also in an email for consideration by Central Coast JWP committee at the appropriate time.
